Had the final closing disclosure with my lender today and I’m still blown away how easily, quickly, and smoothly they handled everything for me after dealing with what a couple other lenders did to me destroying my trust. I knew I was in a better situation the day I called Bill at Benchmark Mortgage after looking up lenders on Google and he requested I come in the office to sit down and meet in person to go over all the options rather than just picking one like most others do. That says a lot about a lender who wants to meet you and know you in person these days as well as including me on loan decisions. He had a team of three or four other people who stayed in close contact throughout the process, never neglected to return a call or email answering questions and personally reassured me when I was worried about losing more money than I already had when I was dealing with previous lenders. They did most of the work and took a lot of stress off me with my work schedule and now I’m finally closing on a house which took less than 30 days. Can’t speak highly enough for Bill and his team.

Worked with Bill and his team during our buying process. Bill spent time with us on many occasions and was always willing to answer any questions or emails. Helped us understand the process and gave us very valuable advice about use of funds to not only purchase our house but also to create lasting financial security. He explained about mortgages and debt in a way I never would have thought of and as such helps my family be in a better financial position for the future.
The entire process was extremely easy, the items needed are done digitally and made life so easy to just upload to the web site when needed.
We had some questions about closing days before, and Amelia was available and answered every question and worked to ensure we were comfortable with everything.
Previously we bought through a different company, and the difference is staggering. With Bill and benchmark we didn’t feel like a number on a spreadsheet and instead felt valued and respected.

I just finished closing and the lending process couldn’t have been more clear cut and easy. I was able to do it all remotely which helped amazing with my out of state relocation and schedule. The closing guarantee was a great plus in the buying process as well as the speed. They even service your loan and help look at future options should you refinance. I’m confident you will be hard pressed to find a better lender, I certainly recommend him to any Military or veterans moving to GA or AL!

1: pre-qualification: helped me understand what I qualified for, recommended multiple products to match my unique investing needs, and wrote pre qual letters when we needed them. It took around 8 to 10 offers to get a contract. Each time I had a offer I needed a pre qual on his team was easy to reach and got a letter in time for the offer. This enabled my wife and I to get a competitive contract in today's market.
2. Loan selection: scheduled a time to go over numbers and find the best product for a great rate that matched my situation. We ended up needing to refinance and purchase a house at the same time. Not an easy task for any team. Nothing was lost in translation and it went off without issues.
3. Processing/underwriting: explained what they needed and provided a dedicated team to assist in packaging both of my loans. Utilized a web application to help upload everything digitally.
4. Final thoughts: Iv worked with other lenders but I wouldn't trust anyone with the loans I just did. Benchmark handled both loans flawlessly. 10/10. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
My wife and I originally thought this would be our last house purchase for awhile. Knowing Benchmark has a smooth loan process has opened the possibility if buying another house.
Military friendly also. Spoke the language on VA loans. If my wife and I end up buying VA in the Columbus area it's going to be with this team.

As the listing agent on two seperate transactions, I was able to work with Bill and his team for the first time. One buyer submitted an offer with one of Benchmarks Guaranteed Closing Letters. This letter was the deciding factor for my seller to go ahead and accept that buyers offer. The second transaction was a rescue. The Buyers Agent informed us two days before closing that the inital lender couldn't close the loan. Everything was sent over to Bill and his team and within about 2 weeks we recieved a clear to close. Bill and his team came highly recommended to me by family. He has done two of their new purchases and one refinance in the span of a year for them, and all three couples were very pleased. Bill sat down and went over the numbers rather extensively so that I could see my options. OMG! I think I found the BEST mortgage company IN THE WORLD!! I was introduced to the Clayton Family/team shortly after a major set back. Let me start by saying this, if your looking for a small team/family that lives 100% by there word/motto "We never Quit" yea, you found them! What I admired the most about the Clayton Family is that, was that it was simple..cut and dry and the results fast. The team hit an impossible timeline (with my situation) and I didn't think it was going to happen even though I had very little contact with the team, the communication was very consistent. Mr Clayton was my main contact for any major changes or updates, so to me it showed his keen and amazing leadership skills along with a pure dedication to making sure I was fully prepared and needed to know to everything to make this happen. Mr Clayton had lifted my spirits during one of our many phone conversations because I felt defeated and all he simply did was say "tell me exactly what you want and I will do everything I can to make it happen for you". There are not enough words to express how thankful my family is to Mr. Clayton and his team. They went above and beyond to help us with an "out of the box" refinance, which I know required more work and research than a typical refinance. We live more than 3 hours from their location, but that was never a problem. Their systems are easy to use and understand. Everyone on his team, from Victoria, Amelia, Alysha and others, were professional and knowledgeable. We have been trying to get our home and land refinanced for over 2 years, and no other bank could make it happen. Mr. Clayton and his team found us a 15 year Conventional Mortgage and we are paying $200 less per month than our original financing. They completed all of this within 6 months. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of their services. They took a very complicated process and made it seamless.

Based on previous mortgage experiences, I was approaching this much like a trip to the dentist ( It needs to happen but put it off as long as possible). My initial phone call produced a specific date/time that Bill would be calling me so as to go over my specific situation etc... That type of service is a dying breed if you ask me.
