We started working with him before we had a house — our pre-approval process was painless, and he calmly and clearly ran us through different loan options we could consider as first time homebuyers, and discussed what could or would change depending on the type of property we ended up wanting to move forward with. The biggest green flag was that he didn't try to steer us on loan amount or value, when we asked for a purchase price and whether we qualified, he simply gave a clear picture of what was, or would need to be true to qualify for that home price.
We ended up in a competitive bid with a tight window to close and got everything we needed on time, without fail, through closing day. His whole team operates with composure and efficiency, and we paid near exactly what we expected from our initial loan estimate through rate lock and close. Closing day was easy with some level of digitized pre-signing, and we have clear instructions on how to pay & manage our loan going forward.
