Alex and his team make the mortgage experience easier than any other team! I’ve had 10 mortgages in the past 20 years and only with Alex and Rate have I gotten a mortgage and then used them to refinance a few years later when rates went down. In this time when rates are raising, it’s best to find a team you trust and it makes life easier for you. Don’t trust Rocket - use Rate!!
Alex is not a salesman. Rather, through repeated investments of his time, he gets to know his clients and our goals, and he remains committed to regular updates from his area of expertise which would be of specific interest. I am grateful to have him on my journey.

There are mortgage lenders. And then there is Alex Baressi and the team at Rate.com. I have purchased four homes throughout my lifetime and my experience with Alex and his team stands head and shoulders above any other experience with a lender that I have ever had. Alex came into this deal knowing that there was at least one challenge that would need to be dealt with before closing. And, as luck would have it, two more major challenges arose as we prepared for closing. Each challenge was met with Alex’s signature honesty, mathematical wizardry and tenacity for problem-solving. Even more impressive is that Alex seemed to relish the challenges, often taking the lead on outreach and coordination with others both inside and outside his organization before I could fully appreciate that there was a challenge to be overcome. This deal honestly may not have happened – and certainly not on time – had it not been for Alex’s dedication and professionalism. I can’t think of any other team that I would recommend more highly for a mortgage lender and I consider myself so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him.

Terrific experience. Terrific team. Minimal work on my end and the work I did do was easily communicated to me on the website via a checklist. There was urgency to complete the refinance before my 37-week pregnant wife gave birth and we got it done with days to spare. 10/10 would recommend.

We recently closed on a home with Alex Baressi, and I can’t say enough good things about him. Just closed on our beautiful new home in Wilmington NC. We could not have done it so smoothly without the great assistance of the Rates team, especially Sharon Sebok and Alex Barresi. Sharon was our point of contact with completing all the required paperwork, forms, and documentation. My wife and I have worked with Alex on two different mortgages and have had our expectations exceeded each time. Alex does not hesitate to go above and beyond and treats customers like family. Buying our dream home this past year was a long process that spanned several months of research and multiple offers that lost. Through each one of them, Alex and his team were always there to pick up the phone (including at night, on weekends, and even while on vacation!), collect and submit critical documentation, and work with our realtors to ensure we had as timely and as competitive an offer as possible -- time and time again.
